Paul Kurtz resigns from the Center For Inquiry

Just received this news item in my inbox. While I'm relatively new to the world of skepticism I'm a little taken aback by this announcement. From everything I've heard Paul Kurtz has been one of the fixtures in the landscape of contemporary skepticism. While it is true that the man is now 84 years old what worries more is the following loaded statement in the article:

Moreover, in recent years the board had concerns about Dr. Kurtz’s day-to-day management of the organization.

I'd love to see a statement from Paul Kurtz himself explaining why he decided to resign.
